SENIOR KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT LAWYER

The successful candidate will work closely with the Regional Director of Knowledge Management in the implementation and execution of the firm’s Knowledge Management activities, transforming information into knowledge with the goal of strengthening the firm’s competitive advantage in the legal sector. You will also drive the training and developmental needs for lawyers and trainees and consistently promote knowledge development and knowledge sharing.

Job Description

  • Work closely with the Regional Director of Knowledge Management to implement and execute both client-facing as well as internal Knowledge Management initiatives and activities
  • Stay up to date with knowledge trends, legal technology trends, and legal developments, while promoting this information across the Firm
  • Send client updates on the latest developments in the law
  • Support the development of the knowledge infrastructure
  • Pro-actively engage practice groups to coordinate the development and maintenance of precedents and practice support materials to ensure that the needs of the practice groups are addressed
  • Drive continual service improvement, including evaluating and adopting new technologies and resolving barriers impacting the delivery of Knowledge Management programs
  • Develop and conduct training programmes for lawyers and trainees
  • Organise and manage internal seminars from visiting academics
  • Oversee the registration of external training sessions as part of the lawyers’ continuing professional development
  • Ensure that learning and development activities for lawyers are in line with the needs of the legal practices

Requirements

  • Prior experience of being a qualified lawyer prior to entering a Knowledge Management (KM) role
  • Minimum of 3 years’ of related experience in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Interest in, and knowledge of, technological advances and their potential impact on knowledge systems
